Night At Villa Blanca Results In Triumphant Lisa VanderPump Interaction

I love food, I love reality TV, and I love Lisa VanderPump. What better way to celebrate all three than by heading to Villa Blanca, the restaurant owned by Lisa and her husband Ken Todd of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills? Quite frankly, I don’t know why I’d waited so long to try the restaurant out. After all, it had been warmly reviewed on Yelp, and more importantly, visiting Villa Blanca meant I might have actually crossed paths with the one and only Lisa Vanderpump. That alone should have inspired me to visit sooner. But it’s all water under the bridge now because tonight I finally dined at the restaurant, and not only was it a perfectly lovely meal, but as hoped, I got a chance to chat with Lisa VanderPump.

REAL HOUSEWIVES OF OC PHOTOCAP: Tamra Strips Down For ‘No H8’, Hates

God Bless America. It’s a land where dreams come true… unless your dream is to have Tamra make an appearance at your citizenship party. Alas, that’s what happened last night to poor, beautiful Fernanda, our sexy lesbian friend on The Real Housewives of Orange County. The Brazilian bombshell (who apparently enjoys clamshells) celebrated becoming an American citizen by throwing what may have been the saddest fÃªte in the history of the Real Housewives franchise. Worse than DeShawn Snow’s charity fundraiser; worse than Lori’s stupid concert in season one, and worse than any dinner party Jill Zarin ever tried to coordinate. That’s because Fernanda only had about three people over, and the entire party budget seemed to have been spent on a sad, patriotic bow that was tied around a lamp.

Of course, many might think this humble affair was quite sweet. But let’s remember that this is The Real Housewives. Parties need shirtless bartenders, corporate sponsors, and perhaps a helicopter and/or poet and/or three story self-portrait and/or dinosaur skeleton to be deemed worthy. Berlin Currywurst Continues To Be Awesome

I swung by Silver Lake eatery Berlin Currywurst over the weekend with my friends Phamtastic and IndianJones, and I’m happy to say the little sausage shop seems to be bustling along very nicely. The restaurant has resolved its over-salting issues regarding the fries, and the customer service is as friendly as ever. The owner even gave me a complimentary chocolate milk after my mouth caught on fire from having ordered the maximum spiciness level of four (a.k.a. “Break the Wall”).

For those still unfamiliar with the restaurant, check out the video above that aired this weekend on LXTV. It will certainly make you hungry. I know I’m already planning my next return trip…

HLN is debuting a new show starring Dr. Drew Pinsky next week called… Dr. Drew. To celebrate the premiere, the news network staged a nifty little soirÃ©e last night at Katana here in Los Angeles. I don’t really have much to report from the event, but since I went and took advantage of the open bar and free apps, I figured I’d pay the organizers back by throwing some publicity their way. Make-A-Wish Kid Rejects Ina Garten, Is Awful

The Ina Garten scandal continues! After news broke that the beloved cook had refused to visit wee Enzo Pereda as part of a Make-A-Wish request, Ina made an about face and not only called Enzo, but invited him to her set. But guess what? The little punk turned her down! That’s right, after all that — after his family went to the media and complained about Ina’s indifference and their son’s broken heart — they rejected her offer, saying “I don’t want to put my son through all these emotions. We’re better off just leaving everything the way it is.”

These people are awful. If they didn’t want to put their son through all “these emotions,” they shouldn’t have aired their dirty business out in the press. And what sort of “emotions” other than pure JOY and WONDERMENT would come out of letting Enzo visit Ina’s set? So what if she rejected him twice? It’s all very passive-aggressive, and I can’t help but feel that the Peredas are merely out for publicity. Why else would they have leaked this to the media in the first place?

Listen, if Ina Garten comes calling, you do NOT turn her down. I don’t care if you’re a little boy with cancer or not. That would be like adding coffee to chocolate and NOT commenting on the real depth of flavor! It would be like folding egg whites and NOT reminding us that it’s classic French technique. It would be like using saffron and NOT TELLING US THAT SAFFRON IS THE STAMEN OF CROCUSES!

Hmmm… this is all so insidious and crafty — clearly BARBARA LIEBERMAN is behind this!

Housewives Hoedown, Episode 14: Unmitigated Bashing of Larsa Pippen

In case you missed it, we just taped another episode of Housewives Hoedown this afternoon, and I’d be lying if I said we didn’t spent the majority of the time talking about Larsa Pippen, who after last night’s Real Housewives of Miami finale, landed herself a cozy spot on the Worst Housewives list I keep in my head. Note to self: update the rankings from last year.

Inside Paper Magazine’s Beautiful People Party 2011

Paper Magazine held a party for its annual “Beautiful People” issue last night at the Standard in West Hollywood, and I was lucky enough to snag an invitation to the swanky event. Also attending were the lovely Phamtastic and Ashton, who have become two of my more reliable nightlife co-pilots in recent weeks. The three of us headed on out to the party in our most Beautiful People-y outfits, which in the case of me meant wearing a shirt missing three buttons. Thankfully, Phamtastic’s Asian roots meant that she could quickly and efficiently repair the situation, and while the people watching was highly enjoyable, it could barely hold a candle to the pure joy I had in watching Phamtastic toil with needle and thread on my shirt.

But I digress. The party was super fun, and there was a lovely smattering of low-level celebrities to keep it interesting. Plus, Keri Hilson performed. To quote Ina Garten: “How bad can THAT be?”
