If you’re in Los Angeles this Sunday, there’s a great fundraiser going on at Le Saint Amour, the French restaurant I gushed about two months ago. The bistro will be hosting a fundraiser with 30% of all proceeds going to the Japan relief effort.

Further details and the full press release after the jump.

REAL HOUSEWIVES OF OC PHOTOCAP: Alexis Introduces Us To High Fashion (As In, You Have To Be High To Call It Fashion)

HW-02.jpg

I was in the midst of a cyber-attack last week, and so I never got around to writing about Peggy’s epic dinner party disaster on The Real Housewives of Orange County, but that’s okay because this week, we got to enjoy the repercussions. As you may remember, Alexis spent a majority of the dinner party locked in the bathroom, pining for her husband Jim, who had opted not to attend because he hates the catty women (probably because a) they are empowered, b) outspoken, and c) on to his shifty business). Left on her own for the first time, Alexis was a total mess, which made her more pathetic than usual — and that’s saying something. This week she revealed that the reason behind her hysteria was that she hated having to lie about her husband’s whereabouts and then she started to miss him, and with all these emotions bouncing around that cute, little head of hers, it was just too much to handle. Hence, the tears.

Alexis told this much to Peggy, but the Heidi Montag lookalike wasn’t having any of it. She noted that it was still rude of Jim not to come, and even though Alexis bristled at this notion, Peggy was totally correct. After all, even if Jim didn’t like Alexis’s friends, he still should have supported his wife and honored the invitation. That, however, would suggest that Jim is anything but self-interested, self-absorbed, and selfish.

REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NYC PHOTOCAP: Mending Fences

HW-01.jpg

This week’s episode of Real Housewives of New York City was all about mending fences… and building new ones. Hmmm… mixed metaphor? Perhaps. The point is that we had some significant truces called, including between Alex and Jill. Yes, the mortal enemies who never seemed like they could ever co-exist in the same room without clawing at each other’s eyeballs found some peace and resolution. Even more impressive: it seemed like it was f’real. I actually believed these two had finally finally addressed their issues, and as much as I liked watching their feud, it was surprisingly cathartic to see them embracing each other. It’s amazing how stressful a reality TV fight can be!

GOLDEN FEUD: Bea Arthur vs. Betty White!

golden-girls-05062011.jpg

All these years, we’ve just assumed that the cast of The Golden Girls were best buds, but in an interview last night on The Joy Behar Show, Betty White revealed that Bea Arthur was “not that fond” of her. And in Hollywood actress speak, that means Bea Arthur was a “RAGING BITCH TO ME.” Or so I assume.

Read more details about Betty and Bea’s relationship as well as insights into Estelle Getty here.

B-Side Blog Attends Nylon Young Hollywood Party, Feels Old

There’s never a dull moment in Hollywood it seems, and last night was no exception. Nylon Magazine held its annual “Young Hollywood” Party, and given that I am the paragon of the young Hollywood ideal, it seemed like the logical thing for me to attend this bash. Joining me were two of my lady lovers, Phamtastic and Ashton, and our friend Sean (not a lady lover, but a spirited gentleman nonetheless). Together the four of us proudly tromped our way through Hollywood hotspot Bardot to take in the lights, the stars, and most importantly, the free booze.

Pics after the jump…

HOUSEWIFE HOEDOWN Ep. 18: Talking About Alexis Bellino, Dinner Parties, and the Glory of RHoNYC

Video streaming by Ustream

In case you missed it, we taped another episode of Housewife Hoedown today. Joining me in the studio was Matt Whitfield, features editor at Yahoo! The two of us discussed the latest episode of Real Housewives of Orange County and New York City, with special attention paid to Alexis Bellino and her dinner party meltdown.

We received two calls, including one from my friend Neil, who shared his experiences with Ramona Pinot Grigio. Not only did he weigh in on the wine, but he told a most interesting story about its sales on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

Check it all out in the video above, and remember you can watch live every week at 12:30 PDT at talkmedianetworks.com/live

PLEASE READ: Nursing B-Side Blog Back To Health

After I got back from my family vacation, I was all psyched to blog like crazy. Too bad I picked up a VD down in Orlando, and by “VD” I mean “virtual disease,” which would explain the wonky behavior on the site as of late. Many people using PCs have reported malicious redirects of this site, sending them to another page that implores them to download malware (disguised as a program to rid their computers of viruses). I thought I had fixed the issue last week by disabling my flash-based ads, but the problem has persisted. Nevertheless, I just spent the past several hours foraging through the back-end of my site, and I found all sorts of suspicious and nefarious files. I’ve eradicated the bad code and purged the offending files from my system, but I can’t be totally sure I’ve gotten rid of the bug until I hear from you all.

If you reach my site and face a redirect, please do the following:

1) Clear your browser cache and try again. You may still be loading the infected B-Side Blog.
2) Turn a Flash blocker on (it seems to work as a temporary fix to the problem. If it doesn’t, let me know.)
3) Take a screenshot and email it to me (bsideblog at gmail dotcom) along with your computer/platform and browser.

Whatever you do, do NOT download the suggested software at the redirected site.

People with Macs should have no problems with my site (Macs rule), but if you have a PC and are having issues, feel free to use B-Side Blog’s RSS feed: feed://feeds.feedburner.com/B-sideBlog

Lastly, if you had been blocked or redirected but are now able to freely browse my site, let me know. This way I can gauge the success of my latest attempts to fix this.

Thanks for your patience. Hopefully I can put this behind me and focus on generating new content.
