I don’t watch The Bachelorette. Nor do I watch The Bachelor. In fact, I kind of hate both shows. However, last night my friend Jenny came knocking on my door in dire straits: her Bachelorette viewing party had imploded, and now she desperately needed somewhere to watch the finale. Being the friendly and welcoming person that I am, I let her in and watched as she proceeded to travel through an entire spectrum of emotions. Witnessing the changes on Jenny’s face was surely more entertaining than the two hours of fluff on screen; so what better way to document the true Bachelorette experience than by snapping some photos of Jenny’s reactions.
Pictures after the jump…
Almost reflexively, Jenny goes into romantic suspense mode the moment the TV is turned on.
Clearly anticipating the Most. Dramatic. Rose. Ceremony. Ever.
Jenny’s heart flutters at the site of Roberto.
Pure joy. She loves Ali and Roberto together.
But wait! Why does Roberto keep saying things like “I MIGHT propose”? Does he not love her???
The excitement starts to wear on Jenny’s fragile emotional state.
OH how she hates that other guy from Massachusetts.
The ANGER!
And suddenly we’re back to sadness.
I don’t even know what’s happening on screen. Chances are Roberto said something sweet and lovely. Either that or he quoted Mariah, another way to Jenny’s heart.
Jenny returns to anguish. Roberto MUST love Ali! HE MUST!!
Jenny now has concerns. Since when does the Bachelorette dump one of the guys before the final rose ceremony? There must be a twist! A BAD TWIST!
Jenny is in total, romantic shock. ALI TOTALLY DUMPED CHRIS PREMATURELY. His name is Chris, right?
Jenny dreads that something horrific will happen now. Will Roberto deny Ali??
The moment of truth is nearly upon us.
Now we’re in a state of denial. Roberto simply could NOT back out now!
A last minute Roberto-in-the-shower scene gets Jenny a touch excited.
The thought crosses Jenny’s mind that a certain Frank character might return and sabotage the great Ali-Roberto romance. Horror and fear ensue.
Pleading with the TV gods for a happy ending.
Roberto’s walking up the steps to the rose ceremony. This is it.
Ali confesses her love. Jenny’s heart melts.
And now Roberto speaks. Jenny hangs on to his every word.
Despite his ridiculous collar, Jenny is madly in love with Roberto. He seems so sweet… but he still hasn’t proposed yet. WHAT’S WRONG??
Jenny is beyond excited. She’s also keenly aware that I’m mocking her with each passing second.
Roberto hesitates in his speech. IS THIS THE MOMENT WHEN IT ALL GOES WRONG??
Jenny can’t deal.
Aw, Roberto loves Ali after all!
And now he’s proposing!
AND SHE SAID YES! LOVE EXISTS!!!!
Well, for some people it does.
Are those Chargers bobblehead dolls in the background?
LMAO! That was my first question!
Go Bolts!!!!
Youre the one with the brains here. Im wathincg for your posts.
You should recap the Bachelorettte, I love that show. My reaction shots to last night’s episode would have included a few tears (both of sadness and happiness) even though I read all the spoilers and knew how it would end!
I couldn’t believe they made Roberto climb up all those stairs, in a suit, in Bora Bora, right before he proposes. Make him nice a sweaty for the occasion.
I love Jenny!!!
I’m with you–I can’t watch the show anymore. They cut it so dreadfully for drama and IMPACT!! It’s like an intense roller coaster when really, it’s an updated The Dating Game. With houses and lots of booze. I enjoy reading recaps, hearing my friends talk about it, even reading magazine articles about it. Just don’t make me watch the show. Gag.
Do the cushions on your couch only go halfway up the back? You may have a faulty couch.
LOVE the last photo and caption.
OMG! Love, love these. They are so great. You are so good at this. I’m so glad you finally floolwed your passion. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Can’t wait to see Jenny lous photos.
Are those Meyer lemons in the bowl in the background?
I want that sweater!!!!
This was hilarious! I loved watching this season, both for the drama and the happy ending. Glad I’m not the only one into it!!
And it was kind of fun to see some of your apartment!
Lemons, bobbleheads, blah blah blah.
What’s up with the Zack Morris satellite phone on the table back there?
That was part of my Halloween costume this year. More pictures here:
