With the new of Michael Jackson’s untimely passing today, IndianJones and I decided to trek on down to the King of Pop’s star on the nearby Walk of Fame. Sounded like an easy enough endeavor, and thanks to Jash, we knew exactly where the star was located. But things are never as simple as they seem…

IndianJones approaches the rendez-vous point!

We walk down to Hollywood Boulevard, passing this reporter from KTLA. I hear him tell the woman in yellow, “WOW. You really do care about this. I like that!” Dick.

Amidst the many cars blasting Michael Jackson music out their windows, we come across throngs of people in line. But they’re not here to see MJ’s star…

They’re here to nab a seat at the Bruno premiere across the street. Incidentally, that’s where the Michael Jackson star is. We came all this way only to be told the SIDEWALK WAS CLOSED.

There apparently is a second Michael Jackson star, but it belongs to a radio personality of the same name — not that it had stopped the mourners from gathering around it. We, however, weren’t going to trek a mile to go to a fake Michael Jackson star. I gave up and decided I would take a picture of a random star and just PRETEND it was MJ’s. That’s when I looked down and saw…

Mahalia Jackson! It wasn’t Michael Jackson, but it was as damn close as I could get.

Meanwhile, on the way back, we came across this sad display.

Poor Farrah Fawcett. It had been eight hours, and already people were forgetting about her.

A tough day for pop culture.

Hang in there, Patrick.

  1. I am flipping my hair in tribute to Farrah and grabbing my crotch in tribute to MJ.

  2. I feel bad that Farrah is pushed aside for that nutjob. I feel no sympathy for his passing. I loved the young MJ and his music, not what he became.

  3. I agree that Farrah’s death is overshadowed by MJ’s. I have overdosed on MJ videos all night. Today I will treat my coworkers to rendition of my fav video…Smooth Criminal!

  4. but, even though what he became was sad, we don’t know what he went thru in his life that led him to become like that. i actually did have sympathy for him. and him dieing makes me sad. poor farrah’s death’s been overshadowed, but i know mj has left more of an impression on me than farrah with his music and killer dance moves.
