In honor of the season finale of Shear Genius tonight, and in honor of my coif getting entirely too difficult to maintain, I’ve decided to do something drastic today. I’m cutting my hair off! This shall come as a pleasant surprise to my friends and family (particularly IndianJones and my friend Andrea who were always very vocal about the bird’s nest on my head). Of course, I can’t just get my hair chopped off without a little documentation. So please enjoy my journey from long-haired bum to dapper, short-cropped gent. To quote Kitty Sanchez: “Take a good look because it’s the LAST time you’ll see these!”

Usually, this is what my hair looks like in the morning.

And this is how it makes me feel.

I usually have to tame it with product.

Unfortunately, excess product = excess shine.

On the bright side, I can make all sorts of fun hairstyles. Here’s me with a hipster combover.

And here’s me with a hipster comb-forward.

Don’t worry. I never venture out in public looking like this. It’s shocking how many people do though.

This is pretty much what I look like on a day to day basis.

Eh. I like the long hair, but it’s just too annoying to maintain.

And so the adventure begins!

My hair stylist Danille does her thing.

It’s not too late to maintain some sort of hipster look.

Ta-da! Short hair is back, baby!

And that concludes my dramatic transformation. Thanks, Danille. I’m very happy. Your work was SHEAR GENIUS.

  1. I’m with your family and friends on this one….I prefer the short look on you. Although the different hairstyles you were able to make with your long locks WAS entertaining.

  2. One of the things I love about you? You are not afraid to post embarrassingly bad photos of yourself. That’s the sign of a man who’s confident in his total hotness. And the new cut is HOT!

  3. I’m feeling highly uneasy because I actually kind of liked the hipster combforward AND the leftover hipster look mid-haircut. But I hate hipsters and think they always look ridiculous. Thanks a lot for filling me with contradictory opinions!

  4. You are rocking the new do.
I like it better shorter on you.
btw, the comb over was hysterical.

  5. Well, while I’m usually partial to the combover, I’d say the short hair suites you just *little* better.

  6. I love it!
But….it was easier to spot you in the BB audience with the long hair and side part.

  7. I think the short hair makes you look younger and more intelligent. Also like I wouldn’t be afraid if you were walking towards me in a parking lot.

  8. thank god. SO much better.
I may have to pay Danille a visit myself tomorrow, as my ‘do is getting a bit on the poofy side.

  9. happy day! B you look great with the short hair. If you start to miss the flowing locks we’ll get you a Renny wig.

  10. Love the short hair it is a better look for you, however at first I was afraid that you would go with a full on buzz cut. I think your end result is great.

  11. Lookin’ good B! I thought your “strike hair” was fun but this new ‘do is NICE!

  12. Some of your comb over/comb forward photos looked a bit like Pete Wentz without all that stupid make-up. I lurv the short and sexy! Rock it, B.

  13. B-Side! Just last night, my friend and I were recapping our favorite B&J TVGasm memories, which prompted me to see what the two of you are up to. Am so happy you’re blogging again–creepily enough, I feel like I’ve got an old friend back. Maybe you could throw us a bone and write a nice composition about “Roz,” for old time’s sake.

  14. Oh, yes! I’ve always thought you looked so delicious with shorter hair, B-Side!
    Thank you, very hot.
