Hey HEY Hey: 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta' Are Back Tonight!

It’s only been about a month since the latest Real Housewives franchise wrapped up its season, but man, what a boring, dull month it’s been. NYC Prep is okay (I’m entranced by the one girl who looks like she’s a thirty-five year old with baby teeth), Miami Social is a bit ehhhh, and I can’t even imagine what Andy Cohen’s new talk show is like (I imagine lots of goofy smiles, billowing chest hair, and general preening for the camera).
Well, the good news for America, nay, the world is that the Real Housewives of Atlanta are back and ready to shake their lady waffles like never before. We got the whole crew, minus DeShawn, who was essentially fired for being too boring. In her stead is Kandi Burruss, a former pop star who apparently is feuding with Nene already (BAM!).
To get you excited for the new wig-pulling season, check out these preview videos. Above, I don’t know what the hell the context of this is, but Sherayay Whitfield is NOT pleased, and neither is the party planner she’s dealing with. Vulgarities are spoken. It all leads me to ask, how you gonna have a party with no party planner? Either way, I could watch this clip over and over and over again (and I have).
After the jump, two more previews from Bravo. One is a montage of scenes from the upcoming season. Another is a scandalous interlude at Niecy Nash’s birthday party. Looks to be an awesome season…

Party scandal!

Here’s a season preview, which you may have already seen.

  1. I am so psyched about this. New York disappointed me a little this season (although it’s still my favorite), and New Jersey just SUCKED (imo). I’m glad these crazy bitches are back!
And I am seriously as excited for the recaps as I am for the show itself… the Atlanta recaps are GOLD, JERRY! GOLD!!

  2. So. Excited!!!!
These bitches are my favorites. I watched an extended preview last week in “the lost footage” show, and I almost died because NeNe had the nerve to call the new girl “ghetto.” That’s like the pot calling the kettle a tenement.
    BAM!!! I can’t wait!
P.S. Sherayay’s neck in that first video is Madonna-level scary. EEK!

  3. Well, coming from an African American woman, I must say that I did watch the show tonight, simply for the entertainment. Tonight as I was watching, I began to think of these ladies’ families and their children. I feel bad for the kids when they go to school and the things (as if they won’t already have the usual kid things to deal with) other kids and/or administration staff may say or think about them and their parents. I mean how can you swear to the extent they do on TV and seriously sit down with their child’s teacher for a conference? And to hear Sheree say tonight that she’d like to find a family and “God” fearing man to share her life, made my eyebrows raise. While I think that every individual deserves a great mate, I also believe she needs to show such behavior that a “God” fearing man may be looking for. It’s really sad that women with such potential would allow Bravo to exploit them this way. I really believe these shows are our modern day minstrel shows…but that’s my opinion and observation.

  4. i am absolutely obsessed with 35-year-old girl on nyc prep. can we discuss her more??

  6. @Roni – wow. i’d never thought of it that way, but you are absolutely right. not to make this place too academic, but i’d love to hear more thoughts about this.

  7. Okay, I watched this episode tonight, and I have to say — what was the deal with the party planner? I hate to side with Sherayay, but that guy was ridiculously unprofessional. The huge ego (“I’m a top-level executive and you need to respect that!” “I’m the party planner and I get the final say!”) didn’t help matters.
