I woke up today to a flurry of emails in my inbox: the Count and Countess are breaking up! That’s right, the big news out of gossip-ville is that Countess LuAnn De Lesseps from The Real Housewives of New York City is splitting with her Not Old Man husband, the Count Alexandre De Lesseps, after it was rumored that he was spotted with an Ethiopian hottie in Switzerland. Is anyone really surprised by this? The guy spends all his time away from his family, and he already has a proven track record of divorce (I believe LuAnn is wedding #4 or 5 for him).
Given that there are kids involved, it’s all very sad and unfortunate, but really, I think what we care most about is what will happen to LuAnn’s title? She can’t just stop being the Countess, especially with the release of her book, Class with the Countess in just two weeks. Maybe the publisher will rename it Class with LuAnn. Hmmm… doesn’t have that same haughty feel. This could be a major problem. Let’s just hope that Alexandre didn’t drop the bomb at the Cancer Society. I mean, NOT AT THE CANCER SOCIETY!!!!

  4. As the french say “C’est la vie!” I think Luanne was more interested in the title of Countess than the title of Mom or Wife! I read that she intends to keep her title -what would be the purpose of keeping the title anyway???
    B-side – Did you see that Vicki from the OC is getting death threats? I guess those woo-hoos really put someone over the edge!

    The article at the site above appeared in the New York Post on August 26, 2008 describes how, at a wedding in the Hamptons, she grabbed the mike, sang songs and knocked over a drum set and then started groping crotches.
    According to the article:
    ” Then, LuAnn, who was there with her husband, Alexandre Count de Lessups, seemed overwhelmed with affection for her fellow guests. “She was trying to make out with women and married men,” the source said. “A pregnant wife caught her in the act, stormed off and walked home in disgust.”
    Alexandre “tried to make her leave and was seen throwing her to the ground in the parking lot,” our spy continued. ”
    Maybe the Count just finally got tired of hearing other Royals tell him that he should dump her? Surely,some may have watched the show as well and gossiped about LuAnn’s disgraceful, inappropriate and quite un-Royal antics. Maybe one of his friends introduced him to the Ethiopian Princess to cheer him up? Google and see what comes up.
